Biography

Mike Hendy is now Professor of Mathematical Biology at the University of Otago having recently “retired” from a chair at Massey University, also in New Zealand. Early in his career he teamed up with Evolutionary Biologist and fellow New Zealander, Professor David Penny, to research mathematical theory underpinning molecular phylogenetics.
