Biography

Professor Ian Roberts studied at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. He has been Professor of Linguistics in Cambridge since 2000, where he leads a very active research group studying comparative syntax and Universal Grammar. He has published eight monographs and two textbooks. His interests include xenolinguistics, the study of the linguistic capabilities of extraterrestrials.
